If your shop has a wide range of products, you can group them in two levels: a parent category (like "Clothing") and sub-categories under it (like "Shirts", "Trousers", "Shoes"). This makes it much easier for customers to browse.
Step 1 — Make sure the parent category exists
Go to Dashboard → Categories. If the parent category isn't there yet, create it first by tapping Add Category and entering the name (e.g. "Clothing").
Step 2 — Add a sub-category
Find the parent category in the list. Tap the + Add sub-category link beneath it. Enter the sub-category name (e.g. "Shirts") and tap Save.
The sub-category appears indented under its parent, making the relationship clear.
Step 3 — Assign products to a sub-category
When you add or edit a product, the category picker lists both parents and sub-categories. Pick the most specific one — for example, choose Clothing → Shirts, not just Clothing.
How customers see it
On your shop, customers tap a parent category and see all its sub-categories listed at the top, with all products from any sub-category shown below. Tapping a sub-category narrows the view to just that group.
Adding category images
Each category (parent or sub) can have its own image. Tap a category to edit it, upload an image, and save. The image shows on your shop's collections page next to the category name.
Reordering categories
Drag the handle next to any category to change the order. The order you set here is the order customers see on your shop.
What happens when you delete a category
Deleting a category does not delete the products inside it — they'll just become uncategorised. You can re-assign them later from Dashboard → Products.
