If your customers can collect orders from your physical location, offering pickup is a great way to give them a free option — and save yourself a delivery trip.
How to add pickup as a zone
- Go to Dashboard → Delivery and make sure delivery charges are turned on
- Tap the + button to add a new zone
- Set:
- Zone name: "Pickup at shop", "Self-collection", or whatever fits your business
- Short description: include your address or hours, e.g. "Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm at our Westlands office"
- Delivery price:
0(zero) - Delivery time: usually 0–1 days, since customers come whenever they're ready
- Save
Customers will see "Pickup at shop — Free" at checkout and can choose it like any other zone.
What you should do after a pickup order
- Confirm the order in the usual way
- Message or call the customer to arrange a pickup time
- Have the order ready for them to collect
- Mark the order as Completed when they've picked up and paid
Why offer pickup?
- Free for the customer — saves them money, increases conversion
- No delivery cost for you — keeps your margins higher
- A chance to upsell — when customers come in, they often see other things they want
- Builds trust — meeting customers in person turns them into loyal regulars
If pickup isn't a fit
If you don't have a fixed location (e.g. you sell from home and don't want strangers visiting), don't offer pickup. Stick to delivery zones only.
Combining with paid delivery
Most sellers offer both: a free pickup zone and one or more paid delivery zones. Customers self-select based on what they prefer. Pickup ends up being roughly 10–30% of orders for shops that offer it, depending on location.
