Product photos in your shop come in different shapes and sizes. The image fit setting controls how each photo is displayed in a fixed-size square (or rectangle) so your grid looks tidy.
Two options
- Fill — photos are cropped to completely fill the grid box. Every product looks the same size, but the edges of some photos may be cut off.
- Fit — photos are shown in full, even if that means white space around them. Every photo is visible in its entirety, but the grid feels less uniform.
How to change it
Go to Dashboard → Design and find the Product image fit setting. Pick Fill or Fit and save. Your shop updates immediately.
Which should I choose?
- Choose Fill if your product photos are taken on a consistent background (e.g. always white) and you want a clean, uniform look. This is the default and works for most shops.
- Choose Fit if your products are unusual shapes (long necklaces, wide rugs, tall lamps) where cropping would lose important detail.
Tip: take consistent photos
Whichever setting you choose, your shop will look most professional if all your product photos are taken with similar lighting, angle, and background. Even a plain white wall or sheet works wonders.
