The announcement bar is a strip of text that scrolls across the very top of your shop, above your header. It's a great way to share important news without taking up much space.
What to put in it
Common uses:
- Free shipping offers: "Free shipping on orders over KES 2,000"
- Sales: "20% off everything this weekend with code SUMMER20"
- Holiday hours: "We're closed for Easter — back on Monday"
- New arrivals: "Just in: our autumn collection"
How to add it
Go to Dashboard → Design and find the Announcement bar section.
Type your message in the text field. As soon as you save, it appears at the top of every page on your shop.
Choosing a scroll speed
You can pick how fast the message scrolls:
- Slow — easy to read, less attention-grabbing
- Normal — a balanced default
- Fast — eye-catching but harder to read
For long messages, slower is usually better.
Removing the announcement bar
Just clear the text field and save. With no text, the bar disappears completely — no toggle needed.
Tips
- Keep it short. Long messages are harder to read as they scroll.
- If you're running a coupon, mention the code in the bar so customers know what to use at checkout.
- Update it regularly — a stale "Black Friday Sale" bar in March looks unprofessional.
