Every product has three small toggles that change how it appears to customers. Once you understand what they do, you'll use them often.
Featured product
What it does: shows the product near the top of your shop, often in a "Featured" or "Bestsellers" section on the homepage.
How to turn on: open the product, scroll near the bottom of the form, toggle Featured product on. Save.
When to use:
- Your bestsellers — give them top billing
- New arrivals you want customers to see first
- Seasonal items (e.g. winter coats in October)
- High-margin products you want to push
Don't feature too many products. If everything's featured, nothing is. Keep it to 4–8 at any time.
Visible in shop
What it does: hides the product from your shop without deleting it. Customers can't see or buy it, but it's still in your dashboard with all its details.
How to use: open the product, find Visible in shop, toggle off, save. To bring it back, toggle on.
When to use:
- Seasonal products you want to bring back later (Christmas decorations in February)
- Products waiting on photos or descriptions
- Products you're re-pricing — hide briefly, update, unhide
- Products that violate a platform's ad rules but you still want for direct sales
Mark as sold out
What it does: keeps the product visible on your shop but shows a "Sold out" badge. Customers can see it but can't buy.
How to use: toggle Mark as sold out on. Save.
When to use:
- You've sold out and want customers to know more is coming (good for hype)
- You want to gauge demand for a product before restocking
- One-of-a-kind items that have been sold
Difference between "Hidden" and "Sold out"
- Hidden (Visible in shop = off) — customers don't even know the product exists.
- Sold out — customers see the product, see it's sold out, and may come back when you restock.
If you want customers to remember and return, use sold out. If you want it completely off the radar, use hidden.
Auto sold-out
If you have stock tracking turned on, sold-out is set automatically when stock hits zero. You don't have to toggle anything.
