If your business has a physical location and a Google Business Profile (the listing that shows on Google Maps and in local search results), linking it to your shop helps customers connect the two — and improves your local SEO.
What is a Google Business Profile?
It's the free listing on Google Maps where customers see your business name, location, hours, photos, and reviews. Search "your business name" on Google and the panel that appears on the right is your Business Profile. If you don't have one yet, set it up at google.com/business.
Before you start
You need a custom domain connected to your shop.
Step 1 — Find your Business Profile URL
The URL of your Business Profile looks like one of these:
https://g.page/yourshophttps://maps.google.com/?cid=12345...https://www.google.com/maps/place/Your+Shop/...
Any of these formats works. To find yours, search for your business on Google Maps, click Share, and copy the link.
Step 2 — Add it to your shop
- Go to Dashboard → Shop and scroll to the Search Engines section
- Tap Google Business Profile
- Paste your Business Profile URL
- Save
What this changes
We add structured data to your shop pages telling Google "this online shop is the same business as this Maps listing." Over time, this:
- Improves your local search ranking
- Connects your reviews on Maps with your online presence
- Lets Google show your shop link in your Maps profile
Tips
- Make sure the business name on your Maps profile matches your shop's name. If they're different, Google may not connect them.
- Your shop's contact details (phone, address, hours) should match what's on Google Business Profile.
- Linking is most useful for shops with a physical location. Online-only sellers without a physical address can skip this step.
